Dear Sirs, i'm from singapore. i desperately need some advise now... it's a long story but i really dun know where to turn to now..
i've been betting with easybets.com for a long time because in singapore internet betting is illegal and where funds deposit is concerned, easybets offer one of the easiest way to deposit. anyway, i have no problems with them throughout and i must say that they are very prompt in their payments too.
i'm quite a small punter betting from S$50 to S$300(1pound = S$3, this mail will be in singapore dollars ok?) one day last week i was playing Yahoo's pool and my opponent was a US guy and we started talking about basketball and i asked him abt some teams on the day's coming NBA matches. then i complimented that ESPN's NBA "matchcast" was very good but complained that ESPN was very slow in producing the horses' results which i sometimes have a small wager on. he then offered to provide me the results for that night if i wanted to bet on USA horse racing and subsequently said that he got "stable info" and could give me some tips close to start time. i kind of believed him as he was from USA and seem genuine. I placed my self imposed maximum bet of $300 for the 1st race and true enuf, the horse won, two races left and all won. in total the last 3 races of philidelpia park races won and i made a cool 3k plus. i cashed out 3k and use the remaining money to be my capital for tommorrow's race as he said he would see me at the same game room in yahoo. but the next day, i did not see him online and till today didnt get to see him. i had no way to contact him whatever so... so i lost the rest of my winnings in other things subsequently...
today, which is about 4 days later, a guy from easybets called me and said i cheated!!!! that i placed my bets after i knew the results. 1 of my bet was placed 3 minutes after post time and 2 of them abt 10 minutes!! i argued with him for very long but he just wouldn't hear of anything.. he said his investigation showed that for the 3 races, my bets were placed after results were out and my bets suddenly increased for the 3 races. ( I do bet 300 for bball and soccer but for USA horses, i normally bet 50 average. but shit, this guy from US giving me tips, he seem genuine and i increase my bets). but even if betting was closed 20minutes late it would be of no use to me cuz espn(the only website i know that provide US racing info and results) is about 30minutes late with the results! but arguing with him was useless. all he want is for me to send him a cheque to repay him for the winnings from the last 3 races. his exact words "i want you to send me a cheque in the next 3 days, you may laugh but i am dead serious, this is the first step we are taking to recover the money...."
i have already used the money to repay loansharks whom i have borrowed from previously to cover loses. and i was very very gald and make a promise never to borrow from them again. because of the loansharks who gave me and my family troubles and harressment no end, my wife has left me and my parents have gave up on me. i told myself that since i had the good fortune of meeting a saviour and had a 2nd chance, i would really change for the better and control my gambling..
of course i believe easybets is telling the truth in the mismatch of post time and betting time or else they won't call me from UK and talked to me for half an hour. but on my side, while placing the bets, i was taking a risk by listening to tips... totally a shock and unfair for me. i swear on my childrens' lives that i had no knowledge of the results before placing the bets.. but they just would not believe me!
i've got two days to call back the guy with a "favourable reply".. i know some of u might say fuck it, but i really can't afford another group of people harressing my family after what the loansharks had done to us previously... my parents will not be able to take it.. i've provided real address and all... and laws in singapore are very strict and are strictly enforced.. internet betting is illegal.. if they go to my bank to complain i'm dead too. the only way i can raise such a amount of money in a short time is to go back to the loansharks again which i swear never to... (btw, loansharks here are gangsters who give out loans with super high interest and use very strong-arm tactics in the event of a default)
please advise... i dun think i can sleep tonight...
