I played on a $5.00 square at Carib that was paying out (5) $100 squares for the superbowl to winners. Obviously this is a good way for them to fill the board, however before the results were in, the $100 board filled up, so the winners were instead given (2) spots on a $50 board (the same board for both squares), which has a total payout of $4500, when the $100 board pays out $9000.
Exact bet wording: EZ-5 NBA (Five Winners Receive One $100 Superbowl Square Each)
I was one of the winners, and I do not find (2) $50 squares equivilent to (1) $100 square, unless of course they were on two different boards, which they aren't.
I have sent my dispute under an hour ago and was told that it will be forwarded to the appropriate personnel early tomorrow. I'm sure they'll work with me, but it's a bit annoying to see a book change a winning bet into something else that is NOT equivilent to the made bet. I understand they did not expect the squares to fill up, and they can't sell out a new $100 board in less than 20 hours, but one would think they would have reserved the spots if they had taken bets for squares on it!
I posed that a satisfactory solution would be to give me $100 on all different boards, which at least would be nearly identical to the placed bet whereas the payout total for the squares would be 9k. Also, the next time I lose, I'm going to tell them that I bet on the wrong team, so I'd like 50% of it back since I made a mistake.
Thanks for listening, am I being unreasonable?
