I could see that they are being looked into by the feds because of who their part owner used to be. The guy was arrested with the original guys in 1998 and settled his case because his son was on trial for murder. 5 Dimes opened in 1999.....go figure.

No (to the rest of the board) it is not something that should be told to everyone, and it has no bearing on the stability of the book.

At least I can honestly say I do know the owner of this book personally. And for all you boys who read across the street and down the road.....it is not AR anymore.

I'm also not proud to know this person. But I can say if they are in actual monetary trouble I would be very surprised.

Legal issues are another story though. Carelessness could be getting the best of them.

This could be starting a nasty rumor, but I had heard many, many moons ago, that this GPX card that is rumored to be going under was associated with 5 Dimes........and it was their payment processing system that they "borrowed" from PrePaidATM.

I thought we were suppossed to be safe this time of year!!! So much for that theory!

I don't think with these new banking provisions that anybody is safe anytime. it may not just be bad money management anymore now that the U.S. is clamping down on how we can spend our money.

The owner of this book was just in Costa Rica, and from what is being said, nothing major occurred.......just prepping for football season. The bad press could have just been a bunch of hype.
