The Ravens host the Steelers tonight on Thursday Night Football in a Game that can be seen on CBS with an 8:25 pm est. kickoff. The Ravens will be looking to avoid an 0-2 start after losing at home last week to the Bengals. The Ravens are currently -2.5 point favorites at 5 Dimes Sportsbook.
The thought of the Ravens not only going 0-2 to start the year but also dropping two divisional home Games in a row is just about unimaginable. Yet at the same time, wouldn’t it be fitting with all of the nonsense surrounding the Ravens as a result of this Ray Rice fiasco?
Last year these teams split this series with the Games being decided by 2 and 3 points. In fact, 9 out of the last 10 in this series have been decided by a field goal or less. Talk about a close divisional series! These two were pretty even last year in terms of where they fit in, in the big picture in the NFL. They were both mediocre football teams and after one Game, it looks as though little has changed.
As a result, we’ll go ahead and make a small recommendation on the Steelers + the points here. As much as the Ravens try and play down this Ray Rice deal, and instead point towards the Mike Tomlin on the field iNCident from a year ago as motivation, it is what it is and quite frankly, it’s a MAJOR distraction that won’t go away any time soon. It would really be a fitting start to their season.
