Matt, this establishment received a great deal of criticism a little over a month ago for being slow-paying. Jeff (Oddswiz) personally knew somebody who was not being paid in a prompt manner. In addition to this, there was further criticism that 21st Century was being deceitful in its advertising by stating an establishment date which was not correct.

21st Century is in The Clink for slow payment. You would be far better off if you
went with one of the many reputable sportsbooks that have good records for timely payment and efficient customer service.

I find it amusing that another sportsbooks, the one connected to a fledgling newspaper that pays its empoyees with rubber checks, was advertising in Pro Football Weekly, which featured a Halloween theme containing a tombstone listing advertisers that had appeared in the same publication only a year ago but were no longer in business - 21st Century was one appearing on the tombstone. Scary thing is that the other sportsbooks mentioned really were NOT in business any more. Meanwhile, slow-paying 21st Century continues to advertise (full page spread) every week in College and Pro Football Newsweekly.

Sting,
At what point would you call slow-pay 21st Century, NO PAY 21st Century? I personaly know someone who is curently being slow-payed, I mean NO PAYED for over a month.
This member of sports across America was assured by Mark Vincent that he would somehow be paid. Again I ask anyone, When does slow-pay turn into NO-PAY?

Good question Ashley, and here is the answer:
"Slow-pay" as we know it now results when a sportsbook continues to accept new deposits and takes your action. They reassure persons like Mark Vincent and your friend that they will be paid while, at the same time, coming up with some hokey excuse as is the case here, although their excuse of financial difficulties is hardly reassuring. When does "Slow-pay" turn to "No-pay"?.........This process usually occurs almost immediately after football season OR approximately 2 months thereafter when it is discovered that Baseball just will not cut it. At this point, you can no longer get through to your respective sportsbook (phone line disconnected) and then the forum lights up with nervous posters wondering what's become of their sportsbook. This is CLEAR-CUT NO PAY in that the book seemingly no longer exists and the culprits have undoubtably run off with your money. BTW, this will happen with quite a few of the books by the end of football season; it happened with quite a few last season and there weren't even as many as there are now.
Here are my definitions and I'm being fairly liberal: 1) "NO-PAY" does apply to books that can not specify when you will be paid OR have given you a date and have not honored that date to be effective some time after a suitable waiting period which should be no longer than 2 weeks AT MOST! 2) "NO-PAY" applies when the sportsbook only pays out winnings but refuses to pay your deposit when requested.
3) "NO-PAY" occurs when only SOME of the clients are being paid (promptly or slow) and others are not (ie Carribean Sports).

1) "SLOW-PAY" applies when a book has not paid you within a suitable time period which should be no more than 2 weeks AT MOST!
and the money either arrives shortly after this period with or without your insistence.
2) "SLOW-PAY" applies when after a 2 week waiting period, your book gives you a specified date (give or take 5 days) in which you will be sent your money. This date will be no more than a month from a 2 week waiting period and the money must be sent before or at the time of this specified date. The book must also be able to prove that all monies requested have been sent.

These are my definitions and I'm sure other posters have their own. Again these are fairly liberal, but in my opinion, your friend has waited beyond a 2 week period and at this point 21st Century should have provided your friend with a specified date to send out the funds. Assuming they have and believing that your friend has been waiting at least a month, the funds should be sent out within the next week or two weeks.
Automatically, the book qualifies as "NO-PAY" at this point if they have not responded to his inquiries, have given a vague date, or have given a date to send out the funds that will exceed the 6 week period. If they have given a specified date that falls within the next 2 weeks, please let us know the outcome. Simply telling Mark Vincent that your friend will be paid without clarifying when certainly qualifies for "NO-PAY"
even if he somehow manages to get his money back in the year 2000 (By then the book whould have been taken over by a "new" company that will make it virtually impossible for him to get all his money back....the "original" owners will have taken a percent of the account for themselves by this time as well). Sorry for the ong-winded report.(:

Let me reiterate a point that I made several months ago. The fact that COLLEGE AND PRO FOOTBALL NEWSWEEKLY accepts advertising revenue from an operation like 21ST CENTURY proves once again, that they are the biggest WHORES in the business.
