USA Basketball

Looking at some olympic lines, i have to recommend China +33.5 vs US. Of course the US will win the game but 33 seems ridiculous. First the home crowd will be out of hand and China will get a lot of energy from the crowd. Plus China won't quit. They may be down 40 with 5 minutes left but will still hustle while the US will conserve energy at the end. This game is pretty much the equivalent of a gold medal game for the Chinese and they will give their best effort to get a good showing.

I guess the books are thinking that Americans will bet the game blindly but I think it is EZ money that China covers.

USA vs Angola

Looking forward to enjoying a cup of coffee and watching some USA basketball.

Team China snuck past Team USA ATS thanks to some hustle at the end of the game but more because of the mercy shown by the powerful US team.

I am not looking for much of an effort by Angola. They have no area where they can much up with the US being even or close to being even.

I will take the US in the 1st half -23.5 looking for the US to dominate early and often.

I will also take the under 186 and Team Angola under 71.5. My logic is that Team China shot the lights out in the 1st half and could only score 71. I don't see Angola lighting it up from beyond the arc at any point of the game.

Good luck,

USA vs Greece

I'll give credit to Angola for competing but the US definitely coasted their last game.

Next up is Greece who embarrassed the US a few years ago in the world games. This game should be a decent test for the US. I look for the US to up their scoring a bit in this game. So far they have not shot the 3 too well. If they expect to win the gold that will need to improve as the competition stiffens.

The total is 173.5 and I like the game to go over.

Good Luck!

USA Vs Spain

Impressive performance by the USA defense vs Greece...much to my chagrin.

Looking at Spain, they of course have the Gasol brothers and have quietly creeped up as an overall sports competitor in Tennis, Soccer and basketball.

It would be a mistake for the US to take them lightly and don't think that will happen.

I'm inclined to lay the 15 and take the US and stick with the under until someone proves they can can score consistently against a motivated US squad.

Good Luck,

USA vs Germany

I have to say that I don't have a strong opinion on this game. Germany has been a disappointment and will not be advancing to the medal round.

With that said, it is hard to guage their motivation. Will they try (really try) to shock the world and leave it all on the floor against the US or are their bags packed and ready to head home?

I would guess the latter. So I will put a small wager on the under (115) thinking the Germans will be mildly competetive the 1st half then both teams will take it easy the 2nd half and the pace will slow down significantly.

Good Luck,

USA vs Australia

Well, it is no longer a question if the US will win but only by how much. Since it is now single elimination I see the US taking no chances especially early in the games.

I have been kind of uneven on the totals so far but I think Australia will do their best to keep us with the US eventhough it will be futile.

I like the game to go over 178.5.

Good Luck,

USA vs Argentina

The US is closing in on the end here. Can't complain that the games are very competitive as I'm enjoying the US' return to dominance. Argentina is supposed to pose a challenge and the line started at 18 and climbed to 21.

I will take the over again (183) as I expect Argentina to run with the US. And I will the lay the 21. Probably a bargain as the US players have said they want to leave no doubt they are the best.

Good Luck,

Going for the Gold

Well, Team USA has played stellar basketball and tonight it is time to finish off Spain and get the Gold.

Unfortunately, I don't think I will be watching the game live and have placed a small parlay on the US -21.5 and the over 181.5. I also have taken the first half over

I think Spain will try to be aggressive offensively and shoot 3's whenever possible. I also think the US will really play aggressively as well and put a stamp on the game and will try to put a good show for the world.

Alright on to football after this.

Good luck!
