WWTS - What customer service?
I've heard a lot of good things about WWTS and when I read on the Bettorsworld posting site that they were going online I decided to open an account. Being the cautious type and having already been burned once by downloadable software that doesn't work on my computer I asked them whether the software would work under Windows NT. I was assured that it would.
Today I downloaded it and of course it didn't work. I talked to their systems people who said that NT was a problem, that they were working on it but couldn't give me any idea when it would work. OK, what to do. Well I noticed that WWTS posts live lines on their site. I called up one of their bet takers and asked if those lines were the same ones they gave out over the phone. I was assured that they were. Talked to my buddy who has an account there - those lines are crap he said - take a look at them. I did - StLouis -0.5 -150!! The line is backwards from what it should be. Carolina and the Islanders were turned around too. I called WWTS back and said your lines are wrong. Our lines are never wrong. Well they are and I've been told they've been wrong for the last three days. Impossible, I check them every day. Well, I said I need them to be right since your online software doesn't work. Sure it does, no one else has complained. By now I'm getting a little steamed as is the lady I'm talking too. So I tell her I'll talk to their technical support people tomorrow since no one is there tonite and now she's blaming them. Anyway, I'm not impressed with this outfit so far. |

I chuckled at your complaint. The consensus is that the folks there are NEVER WRONG!! One time, a guy that I know told them that they didn't have the second game of a doubleheader on the board. The clerk insisted that they weren't booking it because it was a suspended game. This guy, who had been betting for years, tried to explain to this numbskull that they would be the ONLY book in the universe that wouldn't be booking the second game of a SCHEDULED doubleheader. Sure enough, a short time later, he called back and it was on the board. He talked to the same clerk--no apology--no "you were right". The reason being--THEY ARE NEVER WRONG!! From what I hear, things haven't gotten any better since this happened, several years ago.

Well as it turned out - they were definitely wrong. If you look at their site now - Saturday around 1:43 PM you'll see that live lines are not posted for hockey. They said they would take them down until they could get them right.
I'll give them credit for the fact that at least the people I talked to the following day were polite and apologetic. Unfortunately a defensive hostile person like the supervisor I initially talked to can really turn you off an organization. |

We would first like to to let you know that we run our company like a buisness. We do have legitimate resons for doing what we do. In regards to a baseball double-header, after the first game goes off, we post the lines for the second game. We have learned from experience that this is the most efficient system to eliminate confusion from players.
As for hockey, we post the early games when Vegas puts the line up, generally about 11:30 a.m. Due to the vast amount of action that we take on football, we have found our players appreciate the courtesy that we give to the football bettors to place their football bets. When the majority of the early football games go off, then we post the evening hockey. Once again, our experience, which differs from other companies (due to the large volume and number of bettors), has given us reason to implement these systems. WWTS Operations Management |

Just spoke to the fellow that this happened to. He stands by his story. It happened several years ago when a guy named Frank was running things. His policy, at the time, was to post BOTH ends of the DH in the morning, simultaneously, like most of the large books out there.

WWTS marketing is missing the point about hockey. I'm not complaining that the lines weren't posted early on Saturday. Lots of books post their lines late and although that pisses me off I understand that the great majority of their business is football and I accept it. What I said is that the lines WERE posted and that they were WRONG. They were taken down on Saturday because they couldn't get them right which I thought was OK since that at least showed that someone at WWTS was aware that there was a problem and was working on fixing it. They have been up and down intermittently since then. Right now, Wednesday - 4:53 EST - they are not there. No football excuses today please.

As an afterthought - WSE, Intertops and Bowman always have their NHL lines up by 12:00 to 12:30 EST EVERY day of the week. And I presume they too have lots of valued football customers. And lots of volume.
