ACC FOOTBALL
PREDICTIONS-
While the SEC may be the best team for team
conference, the ACC may be one of the most
competitive from top to bottom. The ACC has
provided plenty of thrills over the last
couple of years with teams like Boston
College, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and
Clemson leading the way. This year we'll be
tuning in to see if some anticipated changes
take place. How far will BC fall without
Matt Ryan at the helm and a host of others?
Will Bobby Bowden and Florida State return
to the top?

FAVRE TO TAMPA? Word today is
that Brett Favre will be traded to the Tampa
Bay Bucs. This preview of the NFC North
assumes Favre will not be playing for the
Packers or in the NFC North. A pretty save
bet we thinK

BIG EAST COLLEGE
FOOTBALL PREVIEW PICKS-
It wasn't too long ago that the Big East
Football Conference was the laughing stock
of College Football. Not any more folks. As
a matter of fact, of the 8 Big East Teams, 6
of them have made some kind of national
splash recently. Ironically, the two teams
that haven't been that great, are a couple
of teams that have had past success,
Syracuse and Pitt

AFC SOUTH NFL
PREDICTIONS- Not
Much separates three NFC South teams, the
Panthers, Bucs and Saints, while the Falcons
continue to rebuild and recover from the
Michael Vick fiasco. Each of the three
mentioned has their different strengths.
With the Saints, it's an offense led by Drew
Brees. With the Bucs, it's a solid defense,
but also an offense that could break out.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK
ONE LINES
-
The College Football Lines for Week One of
the 2008-2009 College Football season have
been posted. Betting action is extremely
light at this point, early August, with most
line moves so far being in the 1/2 point
range, or not moving at all.

|
NFC EAST PREVIEW
-
The NFC East has always been a tough,
rugged, competitive division. When two NFC
East teams hook up to play, you can count on
a tough, close game more times than not. If
you're looking for some betting value,
perhaps the Giants at Odds of 3-1 to win the
division is as good as it gets. The Super
Bowl Champs certainly aren't getting much
respect with those odds

WEC 35 PICKS-
The newly crowned lightweight champion of
the has a tough task ahead of him in Marcus
Hicks. Hicks is 10-0 and is a well rounded
striker and submission fighter. Varner is
much of the same, his boxing has really
improved and he has pretty good submissions.

AFC WEST PICKS
-
In the AFC West we have the San Diego
Chargers primed and ready to make one more
run at the Super Bowl. The Chargers were the
only team in this division have a winning
record last season and made it all the way
to the AFC Championship game where they were
sent packing by the New England Patriots

PAC-10 COLLEGE
FOOTBALL PREVIEW
- The PAC 10 had some surprises last
year with teams like Arizona State coming on
strong and Oregon but in the end, it was the
old stand by, USC taking the crown, though
it wasn't as easy as years past (az st were
co-champs but we're beaten soundly by usc).
So, the question on everyone's mind of
course, is, will USC once again end up on
top in the Pac 10? Well, let's dig in and
see.

AFC NORTH DIVISION
ODDS AND PREVIEW-
The AFC North is such a special division
that we actually have two separate writers
covering it. Ok, we're kidding. But two of
our guys just so happened to turn in
previews of the ACF North, so you get double
coverage of the Browns, Steelers, Ravens and
Bengals. Not surprisingly, both of our guys
are high on the Brownies this year

ODDS TO WIN AFC SOUTH
WITH PREVIEWS AND PREDICTIONS -
The AFC South could very well be one of the
most competitive divisions in the NFL. At
the top recently, you have the Colts, off a
13-3 year, 21-0 in September and October
since 2005, Peyton Manning, etc. But right
on their tail you have two more playoff
teams from a year ago, in the Titans and
Jaguars. These are not "rebuilding teams".
These are teams which believe they are a
move or two away from the Super Bowl

AFC EAST ODDS - 2008
SEASON PREVIEW -
Let's kick things off with a look at the AFC
East, the division that the mighty New
England Patriots call home. Strictly from a
betting standpoint, you'd have to toss out
the Pats. The -1200 price is simply too high
for anyone in their right mind to lay.
Having said that, in order to take a shot
here it would have to be with the Jets or
Bills and frankly, we don't think either one
is ready to challenge the Patriots. The gap
in talent is still too wide.

2008-2009 BCS
CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS -
Just as you can make a futures wager on who
will win the Super Bowl, you can also make a
futures wager on who will win the 2008-2009
BCS College Football Championship and become
National Champs. There's very little value
in playing any of the favorites with this
type of wager. Teams like USC and Ohio State
simply aren't worth wagering on. The payoff
is too small to justify it. Heck, USC is
7/2.

BIG 10 COLLEGE
FOOTBALL PREVIEW -
The Big 10 ranks right up there with my
favorite conferences in College Football
both from a fan standpoint and from a
betting standpoint and certainly contains
two of the more storied programs in all of
sports, Michigan
and Ohio State.
No whacky passing attacks, or offensive
schemes. Just hard nosed grind it out pure
football the way the game was meant to be
played.

SEC COLLEGE FOOTBALL
CONFERENCE PREVIEW -
Here we go folks. The 2008-2009 SEC Football
season is staring us in the face. I don't
know about you guys, but personally, I can't
wait to kick it off. Especially in the SEC
where there is something to look forward to
each and every week. Who could forget last
year? Remember the Florida Gators doing
battle with LSU and losing by 4, then
traveling to Kentucky to win a shootout by
8? Speaking of Kentucky, who could forget
all the thrills the Wildcats gave us last
year

BRITISH OPEN ODDS AND
ANALYSIS-
There is nothing like a relaxing trip
to your local golf course to play 9, or if
your feeling good, 18 holes. Unless of
course if your me, and your average is
somewhere around 80 (for 9 holes) you might
not golf too much. Those who do love golf
are going to be in for a treat July 17.
That’s right, its time for the British Open.

MARGARITO VS COTTO

The shoes of Floyd Mayweather will be
nearly impossible to fill. One of the top
candidates is Miguel Cotto. Miguel is from
Puerto Rico, and fought for his country in

Olympics. He has established a perfect
record of 32-0 with 26 knockouts in his
professional career.

Stadium.

ALL STAR GAME PREVIEW
-
While the MLB All Star game is looked at as
a break by most baseball bettors, for the
sharps, it's another betting opportunity to
profit with. Bookmakers, in an attempt to
create interest and action, often offer as
many props and side wagers as they do on the
Super Bowl. There will be prop bets on hits,
runs, walks, homeruns, you name. Not to
mention odds on all of the festivities
leading up to the game, such as the Home Run
Derby.

ROYALS -
Those of you that have been following along
here on these pages know by now that I'm not
too high on the Royals a fully expect them
to end up right where they are now....in the
basement. So here we get a team in the White
Sox, in first place, having won 4 in a row,
8 of 10, 11 of 13, and 5 straight against
the Royals, at a very fair price of as low
as -106 at one book.

NFL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
ODDS
- Many
great college players turn out to be flops
in the NFL. Only hardcore NFL fans will
probably remember Akili Smith. This guy was
drafted with the third overall pick in the
1999 NFL Draft. He could go on to play 2
games before being cut by the Cincinnati
Bengals. Selected first in that same draft
was Donovan McNabb. He wasn’t Rookie of the
Year, but he showed signs that he belonged.
Edgerrin James would go on to become the
Rookie of the Year that season. He would
rush for 1,553 yards and 13 touchdowns that
season. Ironically, he was selected one pick
after Smith. From bust to the best in just
one pick. Let’s see who will be the bust and
who will be the best in 2009.Who is the next
Offensive Rookie of the Year?

MARLINS TAKE ON MADDUX
AND PADRES-
From a team standpoint, we have one team who
has been having trouble winning on the road,
the Marlins, against a team that just plain
has trouble winning. The Marlins have lost
18 of 26 on the road while the Padres have
lost 8 in a row at home and are ties with
the Mariners for worst record in baseball.
But the value in the play here, is the
pitching matchup.

SUPER BOWL FUTURES
ODDS - I am from
Cincinnati, and we have a saying around here
for our local NFL team. Who dey think gonna
to beat them Bengals?! Well unfortunately,
just about everybody in the past couple of
years. I think my fellow Cincinnatians may
have some hope this year. Marvin Lewis
drafted Linebacker Phillip Rivers in the
first round to help his defense which is
desperate to stop the run.

REVIEWS - Our goal

CARDS HOST CUBS-
Another "division home dog" today is the
Cards. At first glance the Cubs would seem
to have the pitching edge with Zambrano over
Looper but we catch Zambrano coming off the
DL and there are legitimate question marks.
Before going on the DL he was 0-3 his last 3
starts with an era of 5.75. So, maybe we
catch a rusty Zambrano.
